HDTV: Engineering history
In inventing the accuracy of Donald Mackenzie clearly describes the false impression that people have regarding improvements in technologies, concepts, which are referred to as the physical trajectory. Through the chronology of history instruction nuclear missiles, defines the trajectory as "the direction of technological development, which is simply the natural, created by social interests, but the corresponding custom options technology (pg 167). However, in connection with the military leadership, comes to the conclusion that these things cannot actually exist. All along the trajectory to be helping the technical, social and political pressures. Nothing happens by itself.
Even so, people still believe that the technology in advance, because it is a natural phenomenon. Moore's law is the forecast that the pace of changes in technology, the microchip is such that the amount of data storage, which may have a chip doubles every year or at least every 18 months. Intel 8080 in 1975 had a 4500 transistors. In 1995, when he introduced the Intel Pentium Pro, he had 5.5 million transistors. However, I think of that, because the plan is destined to, but rather the engineers in Santa Clara is working furiously to compete with other companies. If any other company, which existed to create chips, most likely the Intel would like to fire his engineers and sell their chips for high prices.
HDTV is no different. This document tries to analyze the HDTV as product of technological trajectory similar to Mackenzie for the instruction of nuclear missiles. Under the mask of the physical trajectory and found HDTV as a true product of his surroundings, a manifestation of corporate interests, technical desires and objectives of the Government. This document also shows that the HDTV is not really natural way in the world, but one method that could, through a lot of different parties and did not do enough to convince the nation successfully, that it is a natural thing, which should be expected, and the company has adopted as the great technological progress.
